ROSS HOYT is an American multi-instrumentalist, producer, and improviser from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2019, Hoyt has self-released personally curated albums, capturing his creative approach to multi-instrumental improvisation and electro-acoustic composition. Hoyt writes, records, and produces each release, embracing a do-it-yourself ethos across multiple artistic mediums.

During the pandemic-era of 2020-2022: Hoyt continued to pursue live performance on streaming sites (Youtube, Twitch, Bandcamp), with contributing members of the Oakland-based curator monthly series SUPERVOID. These 2020-era live collaborations later came to listeners in the form of a drone release series titled “Outage Power”: featuring collaborating artists Ed Lloyd, Souls & Cities, and others, further demonstrating Hoyt’s uncompromising approach to new forms of avant-garde music.

In 2023 Hoyt contributed the track Can You Land It (version) to Loko Records Those Who Know: A Tribute to Mick Harris compilation, in a minimalist nod to Harris' monikers SCORN and LULL.

Hoyt’s next two releases, Peregrinari and Outage Power III, will see release dates in calendar 2025 with live performances in support of the new efforts.

Hoyt has collaborated with artists such as RENT ROMUS (Otherworld Ensemble), EUGENE S. ROBINSON (Oxbow/Bunuel) SHANE WHITE (Ripoffs), LEILA ABDUL-RAUF (Vastum), RYAN HONAKER (Souls & Cities), and ED LLOYD (NBAP), sharing stages across the Northern California region and beyond.

Hoyt can also be found fronting Oakland noisecore band No Brands All Products.
